Aberdeen
The granite stone used to build Aberdeen gives the city a unique and impressive appearance. The architecture and layout of the city only add to that, and the gardens finish off the picture in style. It is also a vibrant city, with of course all the amenities expected of it and a culture all of its own - inspired by its role as the hub of the north-east of Scotland.
Situated between the rivers Don and Dee, and facing out to the North Sea, the city's location is dramatic, making it the perfect gateway to the surrounding Grampian region, with its mountain ranges, coastal villages full of character, and much more besides.
Castles, Royal family associations, historical sites, whisky distilleries, inspiring rivers and excellent golf courses fill the region and make it worthy of special attention.
